The Explosion of Mold Certifications

• Look into the prerequisites: use the web to your benefit

• Insist upon 5 years of full-time, directly related experience

• How is that certification exam structured?  What percentage pass on the first attempt?

• The value of third-party accreditation for certification programs

• Hire a consultant that is financially independent of the remediation contractor

• Serving as both the “mold assessor” and the “mold remediator” is prohibited by law in 3 States

• Bills with similar provisions have been introduced in additional States

• In Wisconsin, a bill of this type will be introduced during this legislative session (Rep. Terese Berceau)
